We are back at Magee after our too brief time at home. Everyone has been so wonderful helping us out as we try to juggle all the things we have to do. Brian is a little quiet right now. The wheelchair that he was in was only a trial so he is back to his regular chair. They hope to have him in a chair of his own next week. He was playing pin ball last night and seemed to have fun with that, but today his OT was a test on problems that spinal cord injury patients have. He did not like that as well. Now that he is in his permanent room, we are going to put his posters and pictures up again. That will make him happy. He has received lots of cards, so thank you for those. That makes him happy. I told him he was going to have to open a Hallmark annex as well as a Hershey chocolate annex. Please continue to pray that Brian keeps his spirits up. I know that at times he is going to feel overwhelmed. I have said to Steve that I don’t want to play this game anymore. I am sure Brian is tired of it too. Have a great night.

Brian has made some giant steps today. He moved from the third floor to the fifth floor, room 567, which is on the spinal cord injury floor. He has a new roommate who is the same age and had a similar injury to his. He got his mouse hooked up to his computer which we will still have to learn how to use. He also got his wheelchair which he can move with his head. The people on the floor were surprised at how quickly he has mastered making it move. We are not surprised since we know Brian always tries to be the best at all he does. Brian and Colin are already saying that when he finishes at Magee, he will be able to move more than Colin because the therapists are stretching his limbs for range of motion exercises and he will be more limber than Colin. We asked if he had any more recent twinges because we hadn’t heard him say anything since going to Magee. He said he has had some in his legs. These are all steps for Brian, some bigger than others. As you pray for him, remember these steps and realize that you are seeing your prayers and ours in action. Have a great day.
